I’m so excited to finally do a post of the three outfits I competed in for Miss International Beauty and Pin-up Queen! My first Pin-Up Pageant in Los Angeles and was so blessed to win among such lovely ladies. Hope you enjoy it. Besitos y Bendiciones- Nena P.S. Magazine layout coming soon!
1st outfit: This outfit was inspired by the señoritas from the Golden Era of Mexican Cinema. This ensemble was originally owned by a lady that traveled with her husband every summer to a different location and as a souvenir she would buy herself one outfit. This beauty was bought in New Mexico in the 1950’s.
Hair: Andrea Rodriguez (@missalohandrea) created all the beautiful hair art. I have to say I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to work with such a talented lady. Ok, back to hair :-). Andrea created a classic side low pony with curls cascading down one side. To enhance the pony she added plenty of fresh red roses.
2nd Outfit: The satin red gown was custom made after I had watched several vintage Mexican movies while visiting my grandparents in Mexico. I’ve always had great admiration and found these vintage beauties so timeless yet sexy and classy. If you haven’t guessed it yet… yes, red is my favorite color 🙂
Hair: Andrea (@missalohandrea) created a beautiful up-do to show off the back with detailed pin-curls and utilizing red roses as a frame. She added a soft curved bang to frame the face and hold the crown in place.
3rd Outfit: The judges had asked us to create “What a Pin-Up would look like in the future.” This is what we came up with. The vintage lame skirt was bought at Viva Las Vegas a few years back and used a corset as my top creating the classic hourglass curves. We finished up the look with an Egyptian looking adornment over the shoulders.
Hair: For the hair Andrea Rodriguez (@missalohandrea) created a stunning pump inspired bang in the front with gold wiring and a red rose. She created an up-do by making a high ponytail and included gold wiring as well.
